Please describe your company.Established in 2019, Chennai-based Vijayashree Packaging provides sustainable packaging solutions using paper and board. In a 75,000-sqft area, a team of 160 people works round-the-clock. The packaging printing company has the entire solution under one roof and converts 400 tonnes of paper and board per month.
When did you start using the two Bobst machines? We have been associated with Bobst for the last two decades since we installed its folder-gluer and die-cutter in our earlier facility, Chennai Micro Print. In 2023, we installed a folder-gluer and a die-cutter from Bobst once again. Right now, we are using four pieces of equipment from Bobst: two folder-gluers and two die-cutters.
What are the properties of the Bobst products you like?Bobst products are maintenance-free, and their performance is excellent. We have been using the company’s products for the last 20 years.
Why did you decide to use Bobst? We wanted to produce the best quality products, and Bobst folder-gluers met our standards. We benefit from the reliability and consistency of the machines.
Did you look at other similar products?Earlier, we did not, but this time we did. We did not find any compatible options. Though the initial investment is higher with Bobst, ultimately, the cost of ownership is economical.
What are the features that tilted the favour in this?In folder-gluers, we can produce lock-bottom, four-side corner, and corrugated boxes, which are suitable for most jobs we produce. In die-cutting, the precision of the machine is excellent with no errors. Another point is quick after-sales service.
How much have these features helped?Bobst folder-gluers and die-cutters have enabled us to produce jobs quickly and with precision. We can use paper and board, and even corrugated sheets.
What products do you make using Bobst machines? We make mono cartons and fluted cartons (B, C, E, F, and G flutes) and supply to engineering, electronics, healthcare, food, retail, garment and shoe manufacturing companies.
Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this?Based on our experience, we are satisfied with the performance. Bobst is among the few companies in the industry that focus on research and development, so if there is any requirement, Bobst meets it.
If there’s a critical packaging job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?Yes, absolutely. For special or critical jobs, the Bobst Competence Centre in Pune is helpful. You share your sample with them, and Bobst’s team will show you how to produce it.
What’s the quality like? For us, customer satisfaction is the main parameter of quality, and all our customers are happy, especially when it comes to converting.
How easy is it to use and handle?Using the folder-gluer is not tough, but the die-cutter requires more precise operations. The only parameter is to feed jobs to those machines. The machines are fast and accurate.
Would you say that it offers value for money? Yes, it is a value-for-money machine, but not if you consider the initial investment only. Initially, it will look expensive, but when you consider running costs, maintenance, replacement of parts, and other operational costs, you will find it value for money.
Under what circumstances would you recommend it to others?Anyone who wants to produce their jobs with reliability, precisely, fast, and up to the mark.
